Its what I have come to understand as God took me around the mountain many, many... many times. If you are wondering why you haven't had the break through that you know God spoke to you about, then this blog is for you.

When In Vegas...

A few weeks ago, I took my team to a worksop in Las Vegas. We were excited for a change of scenery and schedule as the business of the year was starting to get us. The first day in Las Vegas, we registered for our week workshop, walked the Vegas Strip, and planned to go to a fancy dinner.

We were not able to make it to dinner as the change in time zones got the best of us! The next day after 6 hours of consistent lectures, we were ready for a good meal. One of our members began to decline because they spent a large amount of their money because they went to the slot machines.

Now you know I was giving the made side eye! Like sis, we don't even rock like that! What happened? As she began to tell her story of how while the rest of us were sleeping, she grew bored and went down stairs to pull the slot machine one time...she has never done so and wanted to hop on this opportunity.

Well that one opportunity turned into two pulls and two pulls turned into 4 pulls, one drink turned into 3 drinks and before she knew it, she was in a full blown gamble session that almost took all her money that she set aside for this Vegas work trip!

My team mate and I had a really long heart to heart afterwards. Why was it so easy for her to lose control in such a setting? It was because she lacked character. The ability to make moral and right decisions. This could also easily be seen in her work ethics when it came to starting her own business.

40 Years Around The Mountain

When I look at my life, I finally realize why I had to go around my own mountain so many times. I wasn't ready, I wasn't strong enough and i couldn't carry the weight of the purpose that God bestowed upon me. Like my dear friend, I continues to pull the slot machine, wasn't the talents and the gifts that God gave me. It wasn't until I began to my 10,000th trip around the mountain, that I began to slow down and take a moment to understand why I as making this trip again.

I needed to build my character.
